Squidgey, Squishey Water Beads!

A few weeks back, after popping along to my local 'special place' (The 99p shop to be more precise!) and after being inspired by one of the many blogs dedicated to children's learning that I read , I spotted these beauties....

WATER BEADS!!

For anyone who is slightly confused as to what these lovelies are, they are the little squidgey balls that are mostly found in vases as a decorative aid for flower arranging! (So there you are!)

They come in a whole range of colours from various places, but seeing as this was Bo's first attempt I didn't want to spend a bomb! I picked up three pots in a local 99p shop for, yes indeed - £2.97! BARGAIN! I am a sucker for a BARGAIN!

I set them up in the kitchen in a big bowl on his little table and let him dig in! He needed no encouragment - he delved right in there! He spent a good 45 minutes exploring the feel and indeed taste of these little gems! We also found out that they bounced if dropped and exploded if trodden on!

We have also tried them in the bath and outside in the garden as they last forever! (Not literally i don't suppose!) I put the few odds in a plant pot with some flowers and they are STILL there!

Now for a few bob, I think we did alright! We will definately be purchasing said water beads again!

Go and give them a try and see what your littlies think?!
